President's Message

Hello TDHA Members, it is my honor to serve as your president.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing President Lucetta Drlik and returning officers Vice President Ashley Sharp, Secretary Sue Nichols, Treasurer Lori Roberts and welcome to Susan Wannamaker President Elect. I would like to extend a “thank you” to Deb Evers for maintaining TDHA website and publishing the newsletter. Your hard work and commitment to your profession is appreciated.

Wow! The summer has flown by as TDHA board and CE committee have been busy planning the calendar for the year, attending a leadership retreat and planning for the upcoming CEs. Our theme for the year is “Helping Hands”.  As hygienists we work with our hands to improve the oral health of our patients. We will now use our hands to help those in need in another way to benefit our community. The mission of “Helping Hands” is to lend a hand to those in need by collecting and distributing personal care items, clothing and food.  TDHA and SADHA are working together on this initiative. More information about this project will be shared at the Sept. CE.

It is my pleasure to announce that Beth Tronolone has been nominated for ODHA President!  The official nomination was received at the Leadership Retreat in July, where our component was well represented by 6 members.   The election will be held during annual session where the delegates will vote for the state officers.  We are so proud, happy and supportive of Beth; we already know what a great leader she is!

Please remember that license renewal is this year and we need 24 CEs to be compliant. The CE committee has been working diligently this summer to fill the calendar with interesting speakers on a variety of important topics. You can go to the TDHA website at tdhasmiles.org to see CE information.  As a member you also have access to the state and national websites to keep current on state and local concerns at odha.net and adha.org. facebook and twitter as well.   I look forward to seeing you all at our first CE in Sept.

Respectfully,

Lori Pasienza RDH, BA
TDHA President
